On the market days, right from the early morning, all paths and mountain roads are full of people and horses pouring to the market. Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai (night train)
- - Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi at 7.00 pm.
- - Transfer to Hanoi train station.
- - Experience the romantic overnight train travel.
Day 2: Lao Cai station - Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Sapa (B, L)
- - Arrive at Lao Cai's train station at 6.00 am.
- - Take 1-hour car ride uphill to Sapa, have breakfast in a local restaurant.
- - Trek down to the picturesque valley of Muong Hoa.
- - Start journey from Sapa by car to Lao Chai, a Black H'mong ethnic minority village.
- - Walk in Lao Chai village and have lunch at a local house.
- - Trek from Lao Chai to Ta Van village of the Giay minority people.
- - Get back to Sapa town by car in late afternoon.
Day 3: Sapa - Cat Cat - Sin Chai - Sapa (B, L)
- - Walk downhill to visit Cat Cat village of the Black H’mong people.
- - Relax at the foot of the stunning waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric power station.
- - Enjoy picnic lunch by the side of the rive.
- - Trek to Sin Chai, located at the foot of Fansipan Mountain.
- - Climb up on the way by a jeep to return to Sapa town.
Day 4: Sapa - Bac Ha market - Ban Pho - Lao Cai station (B, L)
- - Visit Bac Ha Sunday-market opening from 9.00 am until 2.00 pm
- - In the afternoon, light trek to visit Ban Pho, the village is home to flower H’mong minority
- - Enter several local houses to have some green tea, corn wine, listen to the host talking about their family, talk to them…
- - Back to Bac Ha.
- - In late afternoon transfer back to Lao Cai station to take the overnight train to Hanoi
- - Arrive in Hanoi at 5.30 am next day.
