Unlike Bac Ha Market held every Sunday, Coc Ly Market in Bac Ha is on every Tuesday. The market is located on the bank of Chay River. Visiting Coc Ly Market in Bac Ha is also a chance for travelers to see ethnic people such as Flower H’mong, Phu La and Dao Tuyen in their colorful costumes. All of them are busy with buying and selling their homemade products, whatever they can sell to the festive market.  Adding color to the bazaar by the Chay River also have scarves, clothes, decorations and other items made of ethnic fabric...

Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai (night train)

• - Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi at 7.00 pm.
• - Transfer to Hanoi train station.
• - Experience the romantic overnight train travel.

Day 2: Lao Cai station - Bac Ha market on Sunday (B, L)

• - Arrive at Lao Cai's train station at 6.00 am, freshen up and have breakfast.
• - Take 2 hour drive uphill to Bac Ha town.
• - Check in hotel and take a quick shower.
• - Visit market place which is at its best time, crowded with tribal people includes H’mong, Zao,Tay and Phu La.
• - Drop in one the finest restaurant to sample local dishes, taste some corn wine.
• - The market ends in the afternoon, follow locals along the way back to Pho village of theTay and Flower H’mong, located in a fantastic valley for a discovery of the village
• - Stay overnight in a hotel in Bac Ha town.

Day 3: Exploring Bac Ha (B, L)

• - Visit Bac Ha Market
• - Walk and explore tribal villages
• - Visit Tay, Flower H’mong and Phu La ethnic villages
• - Get back to the hotel in the afternoon and the rest of the day is set at your leisure

Day 4: Coc Ly market on Tuesday - Lao Cai train station (B, L)

• - Visit Coc Ly market , which is a rural market on every Tuesday.
• - After a simple Lunch, board a sampan following the Chay River downstream to explore this off the beaten track region for a discovery of wild nature and minority way of life.
• - Meet our car again near Trung Do village of the Tay in late afternoon .
• - Transfer to Lao Cai station for the overnight train back.
