Day 1 – Phnom Penh Arrival day
On your first day in Cambodia, according to your arrival time, we will be pleased to give you some suggestions on what to do with your first day in Cambodia. In the evening, you will have a group meeting with your local tour leader before going to a local restaurant for a welcome dinner.

Day 2 – Phnom Penh – Takeo
After breakfast, we will leave Phnom Penh to the South where the small town of Takeo, about two hours by bus from Phnom Penh, but we will stop for visits on the way. First stop at Phnom Tamao wildlife sanctuary. This zoo was established to preserve and rescue rare and endangered local species from poachers and smugglers. It is home to 70 Sun bears and Asiatic bears that have been rescued with the help of the NGO Free the Bears which aim is to protect, preserve and enrich the lives of bears and those who live alongside them throughout the world. Afterward, we visit two temples of Tonle Bati, an important worshipping place and a popular local weekend picnic site where we will have our picnic lunch. Afternoon, we will visit Phnom Chisor, a well preserved Angkor era temple ruin. Then, we drive to our homestay

Day 3 - Takeo - Kampot
After breakfast we will enjoy a 40-minute boat trip along the canals of Takeo, through the rice fields and marshland to visit the ancient Funan ruin temples of Phnom Da which is the oldest historical site in Cambodia and Angkor Borei as well as visit a nearby museum housed in a small colonial building. Afterward we drive to Kampot is renowned for producing one of the world’s finest peppers. On the way, we will visit some limestone caves with exotic rock formations and Buddhist shrines. We go straight to our hotel on arrival and relax for the rest of the day.

Day 4 – Kampot (Bokor Hill Station)
After breakfast, we will drive to Bokor Hill Station. This site is located on a 1000 meters high plateau of steaming jungle, shy wildlife and abandoned buildings. The specific climate of the site, often shrouded in fog and clouds, completes the mysterious atmosphere of this ghost-town. In addition, the view of the coast from the top is really spectacular. We will spend a full day in this eccentric and surprising site with a picnic lunch near the Popokvil waterfalls. We will drive back to Kampot in the evening. After a day on the bumpy roads of Bokor, you will be perhaps tempted by a shiatsu-style massage or a foot massages at “Seeing Hands 5 Massage” or “Kampot Massage by the Blind”, two places offering massages by seeing-impaired masseurs and masseuses.

Day 5 – Kampot – Sihanouk Ville
We will begin the day with an early breakfast before leaving Kampot to Sihanoukville. Sihanouk Ville is Cambodia’s leading beach resort. There are white-sand beaches around the headland, un-spoilt islands of the coast and the popular Khal Chhay waterfall near town. As we will arrive there at noon time, we take you first for lunch to Starfish Bakery Café from the Starfish Project which assists disabled families and individuals to becoming independent through housing, community and water projects, and medical assistance. Starfish Project will also be able to provide for you a relaxing moment with their experienced blind masseurs, or give you the opportunity to keep in touch with your family and friends with their Internet Centre. Afterwards, you will have a whole free afternoon to explore the beaches. Dinner and drinks at some of local restaurants and bars along the beaches to enjoy sunset on the sea.

Day 6 – Sihanouk Ville
Today, we will organize a boat trip on the Gulf of Thailand. The boat will stop close to islands with rocky reefs providing a rich marine life for snorkeling before to shore to an island with uninhabited sandy beaches where you will relax while your guide will prepare lunch. Later, you will return to Sihanouk Ville with one or two more snorkeling stops.

Day 7 – Sihanouk Ville
Here, you will have a full day to unwind and enjoy the beautiful tropical environment. No activities are planned today, but there are many sights around the city which are interesting to explore. You can spend the day in one of the numerous beautiful beaches around the peninsula, explore the surroundings of the city, or visit the maritime national park of Ream by boat to see the mangroves and wildlife on the shore. If someone is interested in diving, this will be possible with Eco Sea Dive. Tonight, we will have dinner and drinks at some of local restaurants and bars along the beaches to enjoy sunset on the sea.

Day 8 – Sihanouk Ville – Kirirom National Park
Today, we will take the bus to Chambok Community-based Ecotourism Site.
This place lies at the border of Kirirom National Park. It boasts a beautiful 40-meters high waterfall, which can be reached via a 3 km nature trail. The site serves as a model for best practice in community-based ecotourism in Cambodia. Trained local guides are available to share their knowledge of the nature, history and cultural aspects of the area. The site offers a wide range of outdoor activities and attractions such as trekking, hiking, animal tracking or visiting a bat cave. You can also swimming in the stream, riding a bicycle or experiencing Khmer rural lifestyle on an ox-cart ride. We will spend the night at a homestay which benefit the local community. We will stay at a traditionally fashioned Khmer house of a local farmer’s family and have dinner with the hosts.

Day 9 – Kirirom National Park – Phnom Penh
After breakfast, we will spend some time at the village area before journey to Phnom Penh. After check-in, will be free
In the afternoon, we will drive to the Choeng Ek killing fields and the Tuol Sleng genocide Museum - a mass gravesite and a former high school converted to a detention and torture centre by the Khmers Rouges when they came to power in 1975. Choeung Ek also serves as a memorial to those killed under the Khmers Rouges rule.

Day 10 – Phnom Penh - Battambang
Early morning, we will take the public bus to Battamang. The journey takes about 4-5 hours to the town. At arrival in Battambang and after check in at the hotel, we will go for lunch at the White Rose. This local restaurant has a huge selection of delicious fruit-shakes. Battambang is the provincial capital of Battambang province and is the second biggest town of Cambodia. However it still has a very local, un-touristic, provincial atmosphere.
Afternoon, we will stroll around the city to see the old colonial buildings, the small museum and Wat Kampheng, a colorful temple in a peaceful garden. Then, we will drive 11 km along the Sang Ker River to reach Wat Ek Phnom temple (11th century).

Day 11 – Battambang
After breakfast, we will drive 18 km to Phnom Sampov to visit two caves formerly used by the Khmer Rouge and enjoy a spectacular view of the countryside. Afterwards, we will go to Phnom Bannon which homes a12th century's temple and the cave of the holy water. The "Kouhea Preah Toeuk" still hosts some Buddha statues brought by locals in this immense natural room. A real life experience on the bamboo train will bring us back to Battambang where we will have some time to relax before you go for dinner at the Cold Night Restaurant which offers an extensive menu of khmer, thai and western food or other restaurants.

Day 12 – Battambang – Siem Reap
Early morning, we take a regular boat departing from Battambang at 7:00 am. The boat will first navigate along the Sang Ker river before go onto the Tonle Sap lake, the biggest lake of Southeast Asia. This is a very scenic and picturesque journey; you will enjoy the wonderful landscape, passing through the flooded forest and the floating villages and learn about the daily life on the lake and along the river. This marvelous journey lasts about 4 hours during the wet season but can be considerably longer in the dry season due to low water. After check in, the rest of the afternoon will be free at leisure.

Please note that if water levels are low the journey from Battambang to Siem Reap will be overland. The Tonle Sap Lake presents its lowest level at the end of the dry season, in March and April.
Day 13 – Siem Reap
After breakfast, we will visit Handicap International, an NGO which provides a range of support activities to disabled people, many of whom are victims of leftover weapons. Then, we will continue to the Jayavarman VII Children’s hospital, a state-of-the-art hospital which provides free medical care to children. Like every hospital in Cambodia, the medical staff is always in need of blood to save lives. We will stop there for the ones who would like to give blood. Afterwards, we will have lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon, we will visit Angkor Wat which is the largest and most impressive of all the temples. We will proceed to the hilltop temple of Phnom Bakhengafterward, climb to top and meet the crowd for a truly memorable sunset.

Day 14 – Siem Reap
This morning, we will visit some more temples of the Angkor with first stop at Prasat Kravan Temple. This temple consists of five brick towers in a row on one platform and contains some remarkable brick bas-reliefs. Then, we will visit Banteay Kdei and the opposite Srah Srang, Royal Bath. It is a large lake originally excavated during the mid-10th century and remodeled in the 12th century as part of Jayavarman VII’s massive building campaign. Banteay Kdei is enclosed by a large laterite wall and contains three main enclosures with laterite towers, connecting galleries and beautifully frontons and lintels. Then we take you for lunch in town. The afternoon will be free to let you explore Siem Reap on your own.

Day 15 – Siem Reap
You will have a free morning to have a long lie or continue your exploration of the city and its surroundings. In the afternoon, we will drive about 15 km southeast of Siem Reap to reach the temples of the Roluos group, a collection of monuments representing the remains of Hariharalaya, the first major capital of the Angkor-era Khmer Empire. We will visit the three main temples of this site, Prasat Bakong, the oldest temple mountain of the Angkor-era, Prasat Preah Ko, with beautiful preserved carvings and Prasat Lolei, 4 tours built in the middle of a now dry Baray.

Day 16 – Siem Reap
After breakfast, we will begin to explore the complex of Angkor Thom including South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge, Bayon Temple, a pyramid temple decorated by about 200 smiling faces. We will also visit the Royal Enclosure, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. We also visit Preah Khan, a labyrinth of pavilions, halls and chapels. This afternoon, we will visit Ta Phrom. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones or Lara Croft step out from behind a fallen pillar. The rest of the afternoon will be free at leisure.

Day 17 – Siem Reap
Today we will drive to Koh Ker, the most remote ancient royal city of the Khmer Empire.It was the capital city of the Khmer Empire during hardly two decades (928-944). The main ruins at Koh Ker consist of an impressive seven-storey sandstone pyramid (Prasat Thom). On the way back, we will stop at the magnificent Banteay Srei temple – the Citadel of women, decorated with superbly intricate reliefs of male and female divinities, carved on pink sandstone contrasting with the main walls made of laterite. Then, we will visit the Cambodian Landmine museum and Rehabilitation Centre which promotes mine awareness and education to Cambodian people. Our last stop will be the temple of Pre Rup. On upper levels of a pyramid temple offers a brilliant panoramic view of the surrounding countryside and is a good spot to enjoy the sunset.

Day 18 – Siem Reap – Kampong Thom
Today, after breakfast, we will drive to Kampong Thom Province, East of Siem Reap. A two hours drive by public bus through a beautiful countryside will take us to the central city. Our guide will take you for lunch before going to visit Sambor Prei Kuk. This is the setting of the most impressive group of pre-Angkorian monuments anywhere in Cambodia. There are more than 100 small temples, scattered through the forest. In the evening, we will help the farmer to cook our dinner before sharing a friendly meal all together

Day 19 – Kampong Thom – Baray Village
After breakfast we will drive to Khmer Village Homestay, located in the heartland of Cambodia in Baray, off the National Road number 6, between Kompong Thom and Phnom Penh. This community based homestay, surrounded by green rice fields, traditional village houses and Palm Trees, is a perfect place to experience the real Cambodia. We will spend the day at this place where you will be able to enjoy village tour by ox-cart or pony-cart, see a traditional khmer dancing show, visit a weaving and woodcarving workshop or taste some delicious fresh fruit. Lunch and Dinner will be served at the homestay centre and we will sleep in bamboo huts and wooden houses.

Day 20 – Baray Village – Kampong Cham
After breakfast at the homestay centre, we will drive to Kampong Cham, the third largest town of Cambodia, located on the banks of the Mekong River, North of Phnom Penh. We will visit Wat Nokor. a temple built from sandstone and laterite in the 11th century as well as Phnom Pros and Phnom Srei (“Man and Woman Hill”). We will take you for lunch at Hao An restaurant after check in at the hotel. Afternoon we will cycles to the Koh Pean Island to meet children of these poor villages and give them some school supplies, and little joys. On the way, you will be able to see the activities of the locals. During the dry season, we will reach the island by crossing the bamboo bridge (which is rebuilt every year) and during the wet season; a ferry will take us to other side.

Day 21– Kampong Cham - Mondulkiri
We will have an early breakfast at the hotel before travelling to the province of Mondulkiri. It will take around five hours. We will pass along many rubber plantations including the biggest one of the country at Chhup. Our journey will continue to the village of Snoul, which is famous for its fruits cultivation. This town has a rather large market where we will stop for lunch and to taste some of their delicious fruits.
On arrival at Sen Monorom, the quite provincial capital city of Mondulkiri, we will check in at our hotel and free at leisure

Day 22– Mondulkiri
Mondul Kiri mean “meeting of the hills” a suitable name for such a hilly province. At an elevation of 800m, it is chilly at night, almost half the 30,000 inhabitants are from the Phnong minority group with the Chunchiet people making up most of the remaining population. Today we will enjoy an elephant trek from one of the minority ethnic villages. It will give you the opportunity to explore surrounding jungle, habitat and ethnic minority villages and will be for sure a memorable experience. These trekking are an important income base for the villagers. We return to town in the late afternoon

Day 23 – Mondulkiri
Today no activities are planned so you can choose between the many possibilities offered by the area. You will be able to explore the local market where many of the Phnong people from the nearby villages are coming to trade with the distinctive baskets they carry on their back. You will also be able to visit some of the hill tribes’ villages and assist to a minority cultural show or make an excursion to a waterfall among the 100 present in this area. The most famous is Boos Ra Waterfall, the biggest in Cambodia, 35 km from town.

Day 24 – Mondulkiri - Kratie
After early breakfast, we will leave for Kratie by local transport, such as bus, pick-up truck or van which will take about 6 hours including a break stop for rest and drink at the village of Snoul where you will be able to buy another delicious fruits. We will arrive in Kratie for lunch. This city is quite well-preserved and still has some good examples of shop house architecture as well as some old Khmer wood house but is mostly the best place in Cambodia to see the freshwater Irrawaddy dolphins. After check-in at the hotel, we will have lunch at the local. In the afternoon, we are driving 15km north of the town to enjoy a boat trip onto the Mekong to glimpse these rare and timid creatures at sunset.

Day 25 – Kratie – Phnom Penh
After an early breakfast, we will leave Kratie for an overland journey of about 7 hours by public bus. On the way we will stop for lunch at the village Skun. If you are still hungry after your meal and looking for a dessert, you will get the chance to taste the local specialty, the delicious famous fried spiders (Tarantula called A ping in Khmer). Never try, never know, that’s our motto! We will arrive at Phnom Penh in the beginning of the afternoon. After check-in, you will have some free time to relax or explore the city on your own.

Day 26 – Phnom Penh
In the morning, we will drive 35 km north of Phnom Penh to Oudong. It was the royal capital between 1618 and 1866 before the capital was moved to Phnom Penh. Several temples and stupas cover three hills. After lunch in Oudong, we will drive back to Phnom Penh and we will visit the Royal Palace, includes Wat Preah Keo, better known as the Silver Pagoda. This amazing place, which floor is covered with 5000 silver plates, houses the Preah Keo or emerald Buddha made of Baccarat crystal. In front stands a 90 kg golden Buddha studded with 9584 diamonds. Afterward, we will visit National Museumnearby. Built around a central courtyard, the galleries, arranged chronologically, present a collection of Khmer art, mostly sculptures.

Day 1 - Siem Reap - Angkor
You can arrive anytime at the hotel during the morning before the group meeting at Noon followed by a welcome lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit the complex of Angkor Wat, the largest and most impressive of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters. This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls. Afterward, we will climb up to the hilltop temple of Phnom Bakheng, to meet the crowd for a truly memorable sunset (if weather permitting).

Day 2 - Siem Reap - Angkor

Afternoon, we will visit the amazing temple of Ta Prohm, a monastery largely consumed by the jungle. Then we will go to visit the exhibition about Tonle Sap Lake located on the school for blind children directed by the NGO Krousar Thmey. This place is close to the Jayavarman VII Children’s hospital, a state-of-the-art hospital which provides free medical care to children. Like every hospital in Cambodia, the medical staff is always in need of blood to save lives. We will be able to stop there for the ones who would like to give blood.

Day 3 - Siem Reap - Angkor
This morning, we will drive 50 km north of town, through the countryside, to The Angkor Center for Conservation Biodiversity, at Kbal Spean mountain side. Then, we will visit Phnom Kbal Spean. After a 30 mins walk in the forest, we will arrive at Sahasralina, the River of a Thousand Lingas. The remarkable 11th-century riverbed rock carvings display a gallery of gods and celestials. We will have lunch at Borey Sovann Kbal Spean, a nice restaurant set at the base of jungled mountains. After lunch, we will drive to Banteay Srei temple – the Citadel of women - decorated with superbly intricate reliefs of male and female divinities, carved from pink sandstone. On the way back, we will stop at the Cambodian Landmine museum and Rehabilitation Centre which promotes mine awareness and education to people. Return to town

Day 4 - Siem Reap - Angkor
After breakfast, we will head out west of Siem Reap, toward Puok village. We will drive through the countryside and cross villages before we reach the Sangkheum Center for Children, an NGO which provides a home for orphaned, abused or neglected children, as well as a general education and selected vocational training. We will visit the centre of the children training in the workshops, either agricultural farming. Then we will go for lunch at le Jardin des Délices (the Paul Dubrule Training Restaurant) where students of the Paul Dubrule School of Hotel and Tourism will gain valuable experience through serving you. Following lunch, we will join a guided tour of the school and its facilities, accompanied by a teacher or the director. Afternoon, we will explore the complex of Angkor Thom include South Gate, famous Bayon, a pyramid temple. We will also visit the Royal Enclosure, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 5 - Siem Reap - Angkor & Kompong Phluk
In the morning, we will drive 15 km southeast of Siem Reap to the temples of the Roluos group, the first major capital of the Angkor era. Then we will go to the fishermen’s village of Kompong Phluk. As we will arrive at the village at about Noon, we will enjoy a nice lunch cooked local fish, shrimps and vegetables prepared by the local family. Then, we will visit the village, the pagoda on the only butte (the only building which is not on stilts) and see the activities of the villagers before doing a traditional boat ride. Small canoes, paddle by villagers, will take you deep into the dense flooded forest. Over night and dinner at homestay

Day 6 - Siem Reap - Angkor & Tonle Sap Lake
After breakfast, we will spend some more time in the village to learn more about the daily life in rural Cambodia and to take advantage of the morning light for picturesque photos. Then, we will leave by boat which takes us onto the Tonle Sap Lake, passing through the floating village of Chong Khneas to the boat dock, south of Siem Reap. Chong Khneas consists of some permanents buildings but is a largely floating settlement. We will pass along the floating houses, school, and sport hall. Afternoon, we will visit some more temples of the Angkor complex. We will first stop at the temple of Prasat Kravan which contains some remarkable brick bas-reliefs. Then, we will visit Banteay Kdei and the opposite Srah Srang Royal Bath. Our last stop will be the pyramid temple of Pre Rup which offers a brilliant panoramic view of the surrounding countryside and good spot to enjoy the sunset. Tonight, we will enjoy our farewell dinner at a traditional dancing show at the local restaurant.

Day 1 - Phnom Penh Arrival day

In the evening, you will have a first group meeting with your local tour leader before going to a local restaurant for a welcome dinner at a Local restaurant is Veiyo Tonle works as an orphanage and day center for disadvantaged children. Day 2 - Phnom Penh
After breakfast, we will drive to the Choeng Ek killing fields and the Tuol Sleng genocide Museum - a mass gravesite and a former high school converted to a detention and torture centre by the Khmers Rouges when they came to power in 1975. Time for lunch at a local restaurant on your own account. In the afternoon, we will visit the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda. This amazing place, which floor is covered with 5000 silver plates, houses the Preah Keo or emerald Buddha, made of Baccarat crystal. In front stands a 90 kg golden Buddha studded with 9584 diamonds. After this, we will visit the National Museum where present a collection of Khmer art, mostly sculptures.

Day 3 – Phnom Penh to Battambang
Early morning, we will leave Phnom Penh by public bus to Battambang. The journey will take about 6 hours and will enable you to get an idea of the local life and to share a friendly moment with the locals. Battambang is the provincial capital of Battambang province and is the second biggest town of Cambodia. However it still has a very local, untouristed, provincial atmosphere. In the afternoon, we will stroll around the city to see the old colonial buildings, such as the Governor’s residence, the small museum and Wat Kampheng, a colourful temple in a peaceful garden. Then, we will drive 11 km along the Sang Ker River to reach Wat Ek Phnom temple (built by Suryavarman I in the 11th century).

Day 4 – Battambang - Khmer food and Old temples (D)
After breakfast, we will drive 18 km to Phnom Sampeu to visit two caves formerly used by the Khmer Rouge and enjoy a spectacular view of the countryside. Afterwards, we will go to Phnom Bannon which homes a12th century's temple and the cave of the holy water. The "Kouhea Preah Toeuk" still hosts some Buddha statues brought by locals in this immense natural room. Then, we will drive along the Sang Ker River, south of Battambang to reach our homestay in an agricultural village. Will will have dinner with our hosts and spend the night in their traditional Khmer house.

Day 5– Battambang - Ox-cart trip & bamboo train
This morning, after breakfast, we will visit the cultural and agricultural villages of Wat Kor. These villages are known for their ancient wooden houses and you will have the chance to visit some of these houses, inside and around, guiding by their owners who will share with us their life stories. We will continue this insight into the Cambodian way of life by enjoying an ox-cart trip from village to village. For lunch, you will help our host-family to cook a traditional Khmer meal and for dessert. After lunch, we will say goodbye to our hosts for real life experience on the bamboo train which will bring us back to the city.

Day 6– Battambang to Siem Reap
Early morning we will take a regular boat to Siem Reap. The boat will first navigate along the Sang Ker river before go onto the Tonle Sap lake, the biggest lake of Southeast Asia. This is a very scenic and picturesque journey; you will enjoy the wonderful landscape, passing through the flooded forest and the floating villages. This marvelous journey lasts about 5 hours during the wet season but can be considerably longer in the dry season due to low water. After check in, will be free at your own leisure

Day 7– Siem Reap - Angkor
Today, we will leave the hotel early in the morning (5:00-5:30am) hoping to catch the sunrise on Angkor Wat the largest and most impressive of all the temples which homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, before having breakfast near the temple. Then, we will visit Ta Phrom, also known as the jungle's temple. As such, it is one of the most regularly visited temples. Ta Phrom looks as many of the monuments did when European explorers first laid eyes on them. The afternoon is at leisure for further shopping or to see the town on your own.

Day 8 - Siem Reap - Banteay Srei & Landmine Museum
You will have a free morning to have a long lie down or continue your exploration of the city and its surroundings. Afternoon, we will drive 35 km north of town, through the countryside to the magnificent Banteay Srei temple – the Citadel of women - decorated with superbly intricate reliefs of male and female divinities, carved from pink sandstone contrasting with the main walls made of laterite. On the way back, we will first stop at the Landmine museum and Rehabilitation Centre which promotes mine awareness and education to people. The museum display a large collection of guns, rifles, rockets launchers, pistols, mortars, grenades, CS gas canisters, bombs, bullets and a 225kg bomb from a US warplane, all recovered from Cambodia countryside. Then we will visit Banteay Samre Temple.

Day 9 - Siem Reap - NGOs
After breakfast in the hotel, we will visit Handicap International, an NGO (non governmental organization) which provides a range of support activities to disabled people, many of whom are victims of leftover weapons. Landmines and unexploded ordinance (UXO) from the civil war. Then, we will continue to the Jayavarman VII Children’s hospital, a state-of-the-art hospital which provides free medical care to children. Like every hospital in Cambodia, the medical staff is always in need of blood to save lives. We will stop there for the ones who would like to give blood.
In the afternoon we will explore the complex of Angkor Thom includes South Gate, Bayon Temple, a pyramid temple decorated by about 200 gigantic carved heads, then also visit the Royal Enclosure, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Day 11 - Siem Reap to Kompong Cham Province
After breakfast at the hotel, we will leave Siem Reap to Kampong Cham, the third largest town of Cambodia, located on the banks of the mighty Mekong River. After check-in we will have lunch at Hao An restaurant. In the afternoon we will ride bicycles to the Koh Pean Island to meet children of the villages and give them some school supplies, toothbrushes and so on. This type of real life experience in Cambodia will allow you to share some vibrant moments with people. During the dry season, we will reach the island by crossing the bamboo bridge (which is rebuilt every year) and during the wet season; a ferry will take us to other side.

Day 12 - Kompong Cham to Kratie Province
After breakfast, we will drive through two Mekong provinces to the charming little town of Kratie. The region near Kompong Cham was the birthplace of rubber production during the French colonial time. We will pass along many rubber plantations. Our journey will continue to the village of Snoul, which is famous for its fruits cultivation. Kratie is quite well-preserved and still has some good examples of shop house architecture as well as some old Khmer wooden house but is mostly the best place in Cambodia to see the freshwater Irrawady dolphins.

Day 13 - Kratie to Phnom Penh
After an early breakfast, we will leave Kratie for an overland journey of about 7 hours by public bus. On the way, you will get the chance to taste the local specialty, the delicious famous fried spiders (Tarantula called A ping in Khmer). Never try, never know, that’s our motto! We will arrive at Phnom Penh in the beginning of the afternoon. After check-in, we will visit Wat Phnom, a temple on the top of the only hill (27 meters high) of Phnom Penh. It is the place from where the city takes its name Tonight, we will go to Bopha Phnom Penh Titanic for our farewell dinner.

Day 1 - Siem Reap - Angkor
You can arrive anytime at the hotel during the morning before the group meeting at noon followed by a welcome lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon, we will visit the complex of Angkor Wat, the largest and most impressive of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls. At the end of the day, an elephant ride will bring us to the hilltop temple of Phnom Bakheng, to meet the crowd for a truly memorable sunset (if weather permitting). Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 2 - Siem Reap - Angkor
After breakfast, we will go to a friendly local restaurant, where you will attend an initiation to the Khmer cuisine. Khmer cuisine is quite similar to the Thai cuisine but less spicy, with accents from Indian, and Chinese food. You will learn about the specific spices used in Khmer cuisine and choose your menu before joining the cook. At lunch, you will enjoy your own meals. Afternoon, we will visit the amazing temple of Ta Prohm, a monastery largely consumed by the jungle. Then we will go to visit the Tonle Sap Lake Exhibition located in the school for blind children directed by the NGO Krousar Thmey.

Day 3 - Siem Reap - Tonle Sap Lake
Today you will have to rise early for a full day boat tour – you will be discovering the wonders of the Tonle Sap Lake with the non-profitable association Osmose. This association has implemented a pilot conservation and development project in the Prek Toal area of the green era of Tonle Sap Lake, a critical site for the survival of several endangered species of water birds. You will cruise on the Lake to the village of Preak Toal and then go in search of the bird sanctuary in the flooded forest with the assistance of a specialist guide for this area. After lunch of cooked fish from the lake, you will visit some floating villages of the Tonle Sap and other points of interest such as the crocodile farm, a pagoda and observe some local fishing techniques. We will arrive in Siem Reap at about 6pm.

Day 4 - Siem Reap - Angkor
After breakfast, we will head out west of Siem Reap, toward Puok village. We will drive through the countryside and cross villages before we reach the Sangkheum Center for Children, an NGO which provides a home for orphaned, abused or neglected children, as well as a general education and selected vocational training. We will visit the centre of the children training in the workshops or farming. Then we will go for lunch at le Jardin des Délices (the Paul Dubrule Training Restaurant) where students of the Paul Dubrule School of Hotel and Tourism will gain valuable experience through serving you. Following lunch, we will join a guided tour of the school and its facilities, accompanied by a teacher or the director. Afternoon, we will explore the complex of Angkor Thom include South Gate, famous Bayon, a pyramid temple. We will also visit the Royal Enclosure, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 5 - Siem Reap - Angkor
This morning, we will drive 50 km north of town, through the countryside, to The Angkor Center for Conservation Biodiversity, at the Mount side of Kbal Spean. Then, we will visit Phnom Kbal Spean. After a 30 min walk in the forest, we will arrive at Sahasralina, the River of a Thousand Lingas. The remarkable 11th-century riverbed rock carvings display. After visit, we have lunch at Borey Sovann Kbal Spean, a nice restaurant set at the base of jungled mountains. After, we will drive to the magnificent Banteay Srei temple – the Citadel of women - decorated with superbly intricate reliefs of male and female divinities, carved on pink sandstone. On the way, we will stop at the Cambodian Landmine Museum and Rehabilitation Centre which promotes mine awareness and education to people. Then we will visit Banteay Samre. Not visited by many tourists, you should appreciate its peaceful atmosphere.

Day 6 - Siem Reap - Angkor
After breakfast, we will visit Handicap International, an NGO (non governmental organization) which provides a range of support activities to disabled people, many of whom are victims of leftover weapons. In the afternoon, we will visit some more temples of the Angkor complex. We will first stop at the temple of Prasat Kravan which contains some remarkable brick bas-reliefs. Then, we will visit Banteay Kdei and Srah Srang Royal Bath. Our last stop will be the pyramid temple of Pre Rup which offers a brilliant panoramic view of the surrounding countryside and is a popular spot to enjoy the sunset. Tonight we will enjoy our farewell dinner in front of a traditional dancing show at the Apsara Theatre. You will see a mixture of Classical and Theatrical Folk dances.

Day 7 - Siem Reap - Roluos
In the morning, we will drive about 15 km southeast of Siem Reap to the temples of the Roluos group, a collection of monuments representing the remains of Hariharalaya, the first major capital of the Angkor era Khmer Empire. Then, we will drive back to Siem Reap and visit Wat Bo, a temple founded in the 18th century. It is a large, highly respected pagoda. In this holy place, your guide will give you some information about Khmer Buddhism and religious observance.

Day 1 - Siem Reap Arrival (Ancient Capital)

Siem Reap is the gateway to Angkor and we will have five days to enjoy the town and its surroundings. In the afternoon we will begin to explore the complex of Angkor Wat, the world wonder. We will go to the temples by tuk-tuk, our famous local transport. The wall of Angkor Wat surrounding by the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat. This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls. Day 2 - Angkor Complex (full day) ~ 30 km cycling
After breakfast, we will ride our bicycles to the temples complex where we'll first stop at jungle temple of Ta Prohm. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones or Lara Croft step out from behind a fallen pillar. Ta Phrom looks as many of the monuments did when European explorers first laid eyes on them. Afterwards, we will continue to bike through the Victory gate to reach the royal city of Angkor Thom. Our visit will begin with the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of Leper King. We will continue to the Bayon, a pyramid temple decorated by about 200 gigantic carved heads. Then, we will have lunch in one of the local restaurant around the temple and in the afternoon, we will continue to bike along the “grand circuit” to see more temples of the Angkor Era, such as Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, East Mebon, Pre Rup and, if we still have time, Banteay Kdei .

Day 3 - Banteay Srey ~ 75 km cycling
After breakfast, we will cycle to Angkor 35km through the countryside to Banteay Srei temple – the Citadel of women, decorated with superbly intricate reliefs of male and female divinities. On the way we will cycle through the picturesque countryside and will pass over some small villages. We will have lunch near the temple, in a local restaurant. On the way back, we will stop at the Cambodian Landmine museum and Rehabilitation Centre which promotes mine awareness and education to people. Then we will cycle back to the hotel and you will have time to relax by the swimming pool and rest of the day at leisure.

Day 4 - Countryside ~ 40 km cycling
In the morning, we will follow some small bucolic roads west of Siem Reap, toward Puok village. We will cycle through the countryside and cross villages before we reach the Sangkheum Center for Children, an NGO which provides a home for orphaned, abused or neglected children, as well as general education and selected vocational training. We will visit the center to learn more about their work and see the children in training in the workshops. Afterwards we will go to the Western Baray, an ancient reservoir. This artificial lake is now a recreational place for the locals who flock here on the weekend. We will have lunch in this lovely place and spend a part of the afternoon by swimming and tubing or with a boat trip to the island to visit the ruins of the western Mebon. On the way back, we will stop at the small village of Banteay Chreu to visit the popular Buddhist temple Svay Romeat from where we can have a whole view of the surrounding countryside. Then cycle back to town.

Day 5 - Tonle Sap lake ~ 30 km cycling
After breakfast, we will cycle along the Siem Reap River to a rural village where we will enjoy a short oxcart journey. Then, we will cycle to the Tonle Sap, the biggest lake in Southeast Asia. We will take a boat ride, passing through the floating villages. During the boat trip we will stop to visit a bird garden and a fishing farm. On the way back we will stop at the Krou Sa Richreay orphanage, which means "Happy Family", to bring them some basic needs and then we will return to the hotel for check-out. Free afternoon to explore Siem Reap on your own before transfer to the airport or bus station.

Siem Reap Battambang Phnom Penh Departure Day
Day 01 -- Siem Reap → Angkor
Pick up on your arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. After check-in, there will be a welcome lunch before starting our tour of Angkor. We begin with the Royal city of Angkor Thom at the South Gate, with its well-restored statues of asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge, and finish at the quiet area of the Preah Pithu Temples. On the way, we will stop at the famous Bayon Temple, a pyramid temple decorated with approx. 200 gigantic carved faces. This visit will also include the Royal Enclosure, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. In the afternoon we will explore Angkor Wat until the beautiful red sunset. This famous temple is believed to be the worlds largest religious monument, and is really one of the most spectacular. Overnight in Siem Reap hotel, Lunch included.
Day 02 -- Siem Reap - Kbal Spean
After breakfast, a 50 km drive northeast of Siem Reap takes us to the Kbal Spean Mountains. After a 30min. walk in the forest, we will arrive at Sahasralina, the River of a Thousand Lingas. These remarkable 11th-century riverbed rock carvings display a gallery of gods and celestial beings. On the way back, we stop at the temple of Banteay Srei, dating from 967. This remarkable temple is famous for its outstanding pink sandstone carvings. We will then visit the Landmine Museum before spending time at the Butterfly Garden Restaurant providing a unique dining experience in an oasis with 1,500 tropical butterflies. Day 03 -- Siem Reap - Angkor
This day starts with a visit to the temples of Pre Rup, which date from the 10th-century. Neak Pean and Preah Khan were built during the reign of Jayavarman VII in the late 12th-century. Then its on to Ta Phrom Temple, which is also known as the lost-in-the-jungle-temple. This long abandoned monastery, largely reclaimed by the jungle, demonstrates the awesome power of nature, and has been largely consumed by giant trees. Stop for lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the Silk Farm of Puok, a research and vocational training center for all silk-related jobs. It is part of Artisans d'Angkor from the Chantiers-Ecoles, which was created to help young people find work in their home villages. Afterwards we will enjoy the open view of the Western Baray, an ancient reservoir measuring more than 2 km across and 9 km long with an average depth of 7 m. Day 04 -- Siem Reap - Battambang
This morning starts with a 4 to 6 hour trip, crossing the Tonle Sap Lake, then along the Stung Sang Ker River. You can enjoy the wonderful landscape, the floating villages, as well as the daily life along the river. After arriving in Battambang, we check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon, we will have time to visit a small museum which displays some interesting pieces, such as carved lintels from surrounding temples, and stone or wooden Buddha statues. In the evening we go out for dinner at the Cold Night Restaurant which offers an extensive menu of Khmer, Thai and Western food. Overnight in Battambang hotel, breakfast included.

Day 05 -- Battambang - Phnom Sampov
After breakfast, we drive 12 km to Phnom Sampov. This mountain is the site of two caves which were formerly places of torture and killing by the Khmer Rouge. A memorial holding some of the victims' remains has been created there. From this place of such brutality, one can enjoy an ironically spectacular view of the countryside. Afterward, we go to Phnom Bannon, and climb the 337 steps to the top to the 12th century Prasat Bannon Temple. There we can enjoy another outstanding view of the surrounding plains. We then continue to a natural cave located down the hill. A real life experience on the one-of-a-kind Bamboo Train will provide an unforgettable experience. Then it is an 11km drive along the Sang Ker River to Wat Ek Phnom, which was built by Suryavarman I in the 11th century. Overnight in Battambang hotel, Breakfast included.
Day 06 Batta mbang- Phnom Penh
On this morning, we will leave Battambang going to the capital city of Phnom Penh. After check-in at the hotel, we drive about 15 km to the Choeng Ek Killing Fields and then to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. Also known as S21, Toul Sleng was used by the Khmer Rouge when they came to power in 1975. Hundreds of haunting pictures of the faces of those who were tortured there line the walls inside the former school. Most of the 17,000 people detained at Toul Sleng were eventually taken to the Choeung Ek Killing Fields. Choeung Ek also serves as a memorial to those killed by the Khmer Rouge. Day 07 -- Phnom Penh Departure Day
After breakfast, we go by cyclo to the Royal Palace situated on the site of the former citadel, and the Silver Pagoda that has a floor made up of 5,000 silver blocks. We continue on to the National Museum, near the Royal Palace, which houses a large collection of Khmer art. Lunch in restaurant then we return to the hotel for checkout and transfer to the airport for your departure. Breakfast & Lunch included
