Itinerary 2 days/ 3 nights – Visiting Muong Khuong Market and Sapa Hilltrible

Overview

Bordering with Chinese Yunnan Procince, Muong Khuong is a district of Lao Cai Province which is home to a diversity of ethnic minority groups including H’mong, Zao, Nung, Pa Zi and Tu Zi. Located at the center of the township, Muong Khuong Market, the most important market of the local ethnic peoples takes place on every Sunday, is always crowded with some thousands minority people from early morning. The H’mong and the Zao peoples, especially women are always wear their best colorful traditional costume and take the largest number. The Tu Zi and Pazi are of minor number but their traditional costume are of special model with dark color and high top hats...

Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai (night train)

• - Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi at 7.00 pm.
• - Transfer to Hanoi train station.
• - Experience the romantic overnight train travel.

Day 2: Lao Cai station - Muong Khuong market on Sunday (B, L)

• - Arrive in Lao Cai Station in the early morning, have breakfast and freshen up. 
• - Transfer 55 km to Muong Khuong.
• - Visit local tribal market and go shopping, sit down for a simple lunch.
• - Back to Lao Cai, have chances for personal contacts with locals on the way back to their villages.
• - Arrive in Sapa in middle afternoon, check in hotel and walk around the town.

Day 3: Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Lao Cai station (B, L)

• - Go to Muong Hoa valley by a jeep.
• - Walk from Lao Chai village of the H’mong along the river to Ta Van, the Zay village.
• - A Jeep pick up at Ta Van Bridge and drive back to Sa Pa at noon.
• - Free to wander Sapa town and market in the afternoon.
• - Transfer back to Lao Cai station in late afternoon, take the overnight train to Hanoi
